Visitor and infrastructure data

Bay Evidence does not sell visitor information and does not use advertising pixels to build advertising profiles. The site relies on hosting, content-delivery, security, and deployment infrastructure that can process ordinary technical data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps, referrer information, performance measurements, and security events.

Depending on the active deployment layer, first-party operational analytics may measure page delivery, errors, and Web Vitals. Cloudflare or another infrastructure provider may also set short-lived security or bot-management cookies such as __cf_bm. These functions support site operation, performance, abuse prevention, and security.

Fonts and third-party requests

Bay Evidence currently uses local/system font stacks rather than requesting Google Fonts or another external font CDN. External requests may still occur when a reader chooses to open a linked source, image, document, or third-party resource; those destinations control their own privacy practices.

Community submissions

The Contribute form may collect a submission category, title, description, county, source URL, and an optional contact email. Contact information is used for editorial follow-up and is not published as part of the evidence record unless the submitter separately authorizes publication. Submissions do not become verified evidence automatically; they enter a human editorial review process.

Do not submit Social Security numbers, payment-card information, passwords, medical records, private home addresses, confidential shelter locations, or precise information that could locate a vulnerable person. Material suggesting doxxing, harassment, or an immediate safety risk may be rejected, minimized, or withheld from publication.

CTI guide signups

New Citizens Transparency Institute guide signups and downloads were paused on September 23, 2026, while Bay Evidence completes document-integrity and database-policy checks. For records created before the pause, the site database may contain the submitted email address, consent confirmation and version, guide source and landing page, campaign parameters present in the page URL, browser-reported referrer, and system-generated signup or download timestamps.

Mailing delivery is not connected. Readers may request removal of an existing signup record by contacting the editorial desk at the address below. The signup surface will not return until the downloadable file and applicable access controls have been checked.

People represented in the evidence record

Bay Evidence generally publishes aggregate or anonymized population data, professional attribution for researchers and journalists, and information about public officials in their official capacities. The publication does not intentionally publish private residential addresses, confidential shelter locations, or identifying information whose disclosure would create a disproportionate risk of harm without a compelling public-interest justification.
